RELEGATED...AGAIN!!!

Well, it's happened again.

Will we fair better in League one? Will we ever see the premiership again?

As Metallica said, "SAD BUT TRUE!!"

At least they can count on 1 Malaysian fan who'll still follow his team as the Saints go marching on!!!!

News has it today that unless a buyer is found in the next eight days, yer team will be no more . . .

Hmmm, me was quite sympathetic towards yer plight but since me saw yer earlier posting where you berate footie fans fer taking things a lil too seriously, well, me suppose you can have a GOOD OLE CHUCKLE bout yer team fooking disappearing then!

ps: u mention LFC fans? Why? Hillsborough?

Yup, yup...hehehe...it is a game,afterall!!

Yeah..the wifei was saying how 96 people is such a big deal whereas there are thousands dying for all the wrong reasons but nobody bothers!! (This is from looking at it from the British Government perspective.)

It's not about LFC or MU but just how "entertainment" has replaced reality. How our emotions are geared towards extremes for unreal issues.

For example, people saying prayers for "their team" to win some cup!! WTF!! (Some even carry Kavadis!!)

I don't believe in those prayers anyway but ,hey, if you wanna pray.... at least do it for something real la...

Hmmmm . . . me thinks you have not properly appraised the issues at hand before jumping to conclusions.

Yes, of course, many people take footie out of all proportions. In this day & age, do you really blame people fer wanting escapism 24/7?

But with Hillsborough, the crux of the issue is that JUSTICE has yet to be served.

The gross neglect of the police as well as the malicious lies published in the aftermath (in The Sun).

These things need to be adressed before there is closure fer the friends & relatives of the victims. It is also still a open wound fer the club.

Or do you think it is UNWARRANTED coz ONLY 96 perished?

While you may think there are more important issues in this world, & of course, there are, do you not think that Hillsborough has in its own way opened the eyes of many youngsters on the need fer TRANSPARENCY & JUSTICE?

To go with yer logic means we should all IGNORE issues where the death toll is SMALLER than some BIGGER tragedy?

Fer example, the recent deaths of migrant workers in our detention camps. Do we IGNORE the issue coz ONLY TWO died after being BEATEN coz there is a flu pandemic costing more lives out there?

Does the ISA become any less important coz of the human right abuses that has occured in Guantanamo Bay?

I digress. Coming back to footie & what an important part it plays in MILLIONS of people's lives.

Dunno bout you, but me would have gone fooking mental a long time ago without the release valve that is this beautiful game. And when REAL LIFE TRAGEDY comes knocking at our game, it REALLY FOOKING HITS HOME.

Ye talks of perspective. But me thinks you desperately need some yerself coz ye patently fail to see how intrinsicly woven this game is into the fabris of our society.

Fer a great example was when a war ravaged IRAQ won the Asian Cup against all odds. As a CNN reporter stationed there said, "Fer a brief hour after the final whistle, the whole country was able to forget the tragedy engulfing them. That's the magic of this game."

Hope you enjoy life in the 3rd division . . .

Escapism is the word.

I do agree that entertainment provides that but what bugs me is that entertainment superseeds what most are trying to escape from.

Yes...for Iraqis, it was a moment where the could forget the WAR. For Malaysians?? Pls don't tell me your Lpool moments help you bear with the ISA or the bad government la.....
All I'm saying is that many people I know put football ahead of pretty "real" stuff but since you're not clear, let me give you examples of what instances where football comes first:

1. Family outings that clash with big games.
2. Location of holidays without cable TV for football.
3. Having non football related conversations.
4. Letting emotions run so high that its disruptive. Football related fights and arguements.

Having football come first before war and famine is fine for Iraqis but having it come first before family and friends for Malaysians is just plane crazy.

Unless, as for you, AD, when you owned a football pub and therefore the game was your bread and butter. The game put food on your table so I totally am fine if you feel the game is your life. (And it was!!)

You said, "I would have gone mental if not for this great game!!" Really???

Then that is exactly what I mean.

A grown adult can go mental if not for entertainment.

Quote, "coz ye patently fail to see how intrinsicly woven this game is into the fabric of our society."

We needs these "games" in our fabric of society to function normally????

We need a multi Billion dollar industry to prevent us from going mental???

Sad state for the human species don't you think????

nanda: Not everyone is quite as well adjusted as you.

Ye said:

Fer someone so well travelled, you seem oblivious to how much this game is part of people's evryday lives.

Always respected yer world views, but would appear you go around blinkers on yer eyes.

And fer all yer REASONING, you still failed to see me point about Hillsborough & the lack of transparency & justice. Or is it just unimportant to you coz ONLY 96 people died?

Me suppose people shouldn't have campaigned fer the relase of the Birmingham six since it was just six fookers who were wrongly imprioned . . .

nanda666 said...

AD, totally agree that justice should prevail no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. Yes, the Birmingham 6, 96 at Hillsborough, Injustice to Gandhi and Mandela, etc, etc...... I do agree that these are things that are worth fighting for...my REASONING is clear on that!!

96 people died in Hillsborough not fighting for their country, not due to hunger....they died trying to get entertained!!! That is what I'm frustrated about!!!

Forget the grieving families and think of those 96 fans....."I went out to watch my team and I $#%#%ing died????"

Was the entertainment worth their lives??????

If they knew there was a possibility of death...would they have still gone for the match???

Where the entertainment industry is taking us is what I'm pissed about.

Through my "blinkers" I do see footballers crashing a Ferrari while the world is reducing carbon emissions!!
Through my "blinkers" I see footballers having mansions worth hundreds of millions while homeless children die in the cold winters in Pakistan.

Are the Billions of pounds made by these "entertainers" going towards safer stadiums??? towards cheaper tickets for the fans experiencing an economic downturn??? Towards cheaper merchandise????

Fans having permanent tattoos of their teams while the actual players change teams for money????

Sorry AD, making the entertainment industry a necessity in life IS a sad state of affairs no matter which "blinkers" I have on!!

Dear Mr Nanda,

Firstly, if you had bothered to read the many tributes & articles (especially the letters from relatives) surrounding Hillsborough, you will have realised that that is precisely what everyone feels.

People going out fer a football match LOST their lives.

Unnecessary.

Tragic waste of human life.

And it was down to NEGLIGENT policing. And yet no one has been brought to justice.

Ye make it sound like ye've fooking invented the fooking light bulb when all along that's what people feel.

And am sorry, nowhere do you make it clear that there is a need fer justice. "Just why the big fuss?"

In fact, ye seem to place the blame on football itself. WTF?

And yer pathetic reasoning, YES, its PATHETIC, that we idolise & even applaud ferrari-crashing antics of spolit brat players show just how far up yer own fooking backside ye are.

Tats? Entertainment industry?

Fer fook's sake, am proud to be associated with me club as it is an integral part of me make up. So me wears me colours on me sleeve. Suppose you think only sailors have a right to express themselves with ink?

And dude, johnny-come-latelys like yerself will NOT realise that many of us have been in love, nay obsessed, with this game BEFORE it is the monstrosity it is today.

As fer being idiot slaves to this so-called entertainment industry, at least we recognise the good from the bad.

Can you say the same fer yerself?

And before you start yer self-righteous chest thumping, ask yerself this.

Have you ever not CRAVED a cold beer or three after work? Indulged . . . & then DRIVEN home?

Now that's what me calls irresponsible behaviour . . .

Last bit was just a personal dig . . . but me thinks ye gets the point.

ps: Look forward to meeting the non-smoking, non-drinking, Proton-driving Nanda soon since he ISN'T a slave to any form of superflous activities or self-indulgent behaviour.

AD...chill dude!!! I'm not saying I don't do it too la... all I'm saying is that it's not right that we spend so much on time on it.
If you want to continue to make entertainment the paramount of your existance, it's totally up to you.
